HumiSeal® UV40 is a single component, high solids, UV curable, acrylated polyurethane conformal coating that possesses excellent chemical resistance, surface hardness, flexibility and moisture resistance. The material is tack-free after exposure to UV light. A secondary moisture cure mechanism will cure unexposed areas of the coating within 2-3 days at ambient conditions. The coating fluorescence under UV light to allow for coating inspection and can be applied by selective coating equipment. UV-40 curable conformal coating is a single layer coating that is specifically designed for maximum level of protection of PCB’s. It is a thin film that is ensured on the topology of the circuit board and protects it from harsh chemical and mechanical environments.
UV curing is a process in which UV light is used to start a photochemical reaction that generates a microscopic cross linked network of acrylated polyurethane. UV Curable Conformal coatings can be successfully applied to substrates that have been cleaned prior to coating and also to substrates assembled with low residue, “no clean” assembly materials. Users should perform adequate testing to confirm compatibility between the conformal coating and their particular assembly materials, process conditions and cleanliness level.
UV curable conformal coating is done by spaying the UV resin on the PCB using traditional spraying equipment. This provides extremely fast curing for a period of time with maximum production speed. This resin gets completely solidified within seconds of application on any surface. This causes a minimal effect on the environment. It comes with a super adhesive solid material that is non reactive to solder.
It provides resistance to a wide range of chemical solvents, moisture, and inductance which are major potential contaminants of a PCB. UV curing of a circuit board makes it flexible to a wide range of temperature. The cured film has a high degree of environmental and chemical resistance and will be more difficult to remove than traditional conformal coatings.
